Thijs completed his PhD at the department of Radiology of Leiden University Medical Center in the Netherlands on advanced MRI markers of cerebral small vessel disease. His work focuses on the measurement of the movement of fluids in the brain using MRI and the development of image analysis pipelines. He is co-mentored by Dr. Steven Greenberg. 

In his free time, Thijs likes rock climbing, cooking, and making beer.
