Orla completed her PhD at the University of Sussex where she investigated the effect of APOE4 on neurovascular function. As a Research Fellow at MGH, Orla continues to explore the effects of APOE on the vasculature, now in the context of CAA. She also uses imaging techniques to better understand mechanisms that underlie brain clearance and is interested in understanding how these mechanisms might be targeted therapeutically in CAA. Orla is the recipient of an American Heart Association Post Doctoral Fellowship. 

Outside of work Orla likes to spend time outdoors, eat nice food and read novels.
