Kıvılcım Kılıç, MD, PhD

SENIOR RESEARCH SCIENTIST

Kıvılcım is a Senior Research Scientist at Massachusetts General Hospital and a Research Associate of Neurology at Harvard Medical School. She completed her MD at Hacettepe University Medical Faculty, Ankara, Turkey and her PhD in Neuroscience at the Hacettepe University Institute of Neurological Sciences and Psychiatry. She has served as a postdoctoral research fellow in Neuroscience at the University of California San Diego and in Neurology at the University of California Los Angeles. She has also served as a Research Scientist (with Dr. David Boas) and a Senior Research Scientist (with Dr. Anna Devor) in Biomedical Engineering at Boston University. Kıvılcım also has been teaching as adjunct faculty in Psychology at Boston College.

Kıvılcım’s research focus is on neurovascular imaging, chronic animal models of disease and in vivo electrophysiology. She is also enthusiastic about developing affordable, “out of the box” solutions for experimental problems.

Outside of work, Kıvılcım likes to craft, bake, play board games and spend time with her family and friends.
