Katy Walsh, PhD
POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW
Katy attained her PhD from the University of Manchester, UK, where she investigated disruptions in cerebral blood flow in the APP23 mouse model of amyloid overexpression.
Katy’s work in the lab will continue to investigate blood vessel function in APP23 mice in the context of CAA. Her project focuses on the role of APOE variants in CAA and potential therapeutic strategies to rescue and maintain vascular function. Katy is funded by a Ralph L. Sacco Scholarship from the American Heart Association and the American Academy of Neurology.
In her free time, Katy likes to ski, run, and spend time at the pub with friends.
